How years of history and linked records raise data value
Data that spans many years and links records across your systems lets AI labs see full workflows, increasing the licensing price you can command.

Your company's data becomes more valuable when it spans several years and when individual records are linked across the tools you already use. A long timeline lets a lab see how processes change, while linked identifiers turn isolated snapshots into a complete story that a model can learn from.
The advantage of a multi-year timeline
When your exports cover five or more years, the data shows the evolution of products, the impact of market shifts, and the way your team adapts to new regulations. Labs love that depth because it lets them:
- Spot seasonal cycles and train models that anticipate demand swings.
- Capture rare events, like a supply-chain disruption or a regulatory change, that appear only in a multi-year record.
Imagine you run a 60-person logistics firm that has kept the same ticketing and accounting system for six years. The lab can trace how a sudden port strike rippled through order fulfillment, how you rerouted shipments, and how the financials recovered. That end-to-end view is impossible with a single-year slice.
Why linking records matters
A support ticket that appears in your help-desk, chat transcript, follow-up email and final invoice creates a traceable workflow. When a common identifier survives tool migrations, say a project ID that lives in a project-management board, a time-tracking system and a billing record, the model can follow the decision chain from request to outcome.
With those links the model can:
- Infer cause-and-effect, such as how a specific response improves resolution scores.
- Build richer reinforcement-learning environments because the steps, success criteria and outcomes are all visible.
In short, linked records turn a collection of files into a living process map that a lab can replay and learn from.

Rarity and clean rights add a premium
If your data comes from a niche industry or a specialized workflow, it becomes even harder for labs to find comparable material. A generic sales log is easy to source; a detailed log of aerospace maintenance procedures that also includes internal approvals is not. Labs pay a premium for that scarcity.
Clean rights are equally important. You must own the data and have contracts that allow de-identified use. When those legal boxes are checked, the broker can move quickly and the lab can focus on model building instead of negotiating permissions. The combination of rarity and clean rights often lifts the price by a noticeable margin.
Compliance test and de-identification
Before any lab sees a sample, we run a privacy test that checks where the people in the data live and which regulations apply. The test decides when information is no longer personal, and the de-identification step removes it. If you want the service as a stand-alone option, see our de-identification page. Your counsel will confirm the applicable rules, and the cleaned files are handled under the terms you agree to.
A simple self-check
Before you start a licensing discussion, run this quick test:
- Count how many full years you have continuous exports from each core system (CRM, ticketing, accounting, etc.).
- Identify at least one field that appears in two or more systems (project ID, customer number, order reference).
If you hit five or more years and have a common identifier linking records, you are in a strong position to attract higher offers.
How we turn your information into offers
When you fill out the short questionnaire on our fit check page, we draft a one-page summary that contains no raw data, just the high-level facts you supplied. That summary is sent to several large AI labs. We collect the quotes, compare the terms, and bring the best offer back to you.
No data leaves your environment until you approve a quote. At that point we run the de-identification step that strips personal information, replaces names with stable pseudonyms (like "employee 632"), and removes any confidential fields required by your policies. The AI lab pays the broker fee only after the deal closes, so you incur no upfront cost for matchmaking.
If you have workflow-specific data such as recorded task runs or AI-assisted steps, you can also explore licensing that separately. Details are on our workflow licensing page.

Questions people ask
How many years of data are enough to raise value?
Five or more continuous years usually provide enough evolution and rare events to interest most AI labs. Shorter histories can still command a premium if the data is highly unique or exceptionally well linked.
Does linking records across several tools really matter?
Yes. The more systems that share a common identifier, the clearer the end-to-end workflow becomes. That clarity lets labs build stronger reinforcement-learning environments and models that understand real business reasoning.
What happens to personal information in my data?
All personally identifiable information is stripped during the de-identification step before any lab sees the data. The process follows the privacy rules that apply to the people represented, and your legal counsel confirms the approach.
Will I still own my data after licensing it?
You retain ownership and continue using the data internally. Licensing is a one-time payment, and you can negotiate a refresh later if you wish.
