Is AI Training Data Broker legit? Who we are, how we are paid and how to check
If you are weighing whether to hand a company’s history to a broker, asking that question first is sensible. This page says who runs the business, how it earns, what it asks of a seller and what it will not do, in plain terms, and it lists ways you can check each point without taking our word for it.
Who runs it
AI Training Data Broker is run by Jimmy Lin, a data analyst and software engineer who is a Canadian military veteran. His name and photo are on the about page, and you reach him by phone.
The business is an independent broker and technical advisor for company data deals with AI labs. It is not an agent of any buyer. The mailing address is 5005 W. Laurel St, PMB 4827, Tampa, FL 33607. Mail only. The phone number is +1 656 800 9088.
How we are paid
The money flow is described in more detail on the page about how you get paid. Because the AI lab pays us, we have a reason to bring a deal to a close, and you should weigh that. The disclosure and the written terms exist so you can.
| Item | What it is |
|---|---|
| Broker fee | Paid by the AI lab that buys the data, and only after the deal closes. |
| Fee from the seller | None. We do not charge listing fees or retainers, and we do not charge when no deal closes. |
| Referral fee | Paid to a person who brings us a qualified company. It is agreed in writing first and paid after we are paid. |
| Refunds | If a buyer’s payment is refunded, our fee on it is refunded too. |
| Disclosure | Our fee is disclosed to both sides before anyone signs. |
What the three-month exclusive means
Before any AI lab sees a summary of your data, we ask you to sign an exclusive broker agreement for three months. During that time we are the only broker showing your data, and interest from labs comes to us. After three months you are free to go elsewhere, unless you agree in writing to more time.
The reason is practical. AI labs receive more offers than they can review, and the same data arriving from two brokers wastes their time and weakens the offer. The agreement is between you and us. It is not the license between your company and an AI lab, which is a separate contract with its own terms, including whether that lab gets the data exclusively.
Read the broker agreement before you sign it, ask what it does if no lab is interested, and ask for the end date in the document. You tell us first about any broker or lab you have already dealt with, and we do not approach those labs.
What we check and what we turn down
We turn down records we should not broker. The list is on the page about what we will not broker.
- That the company owns the records and can license them, with a rights check before any summary is written.
- That the data has not been licensed for AI training before, and that it is real human data rather than data made by AI.
- That the company is a fit. We look for 30 or more full-time employees, most of them at a desk, and three or more years on the same tools, with records in English.
- That personal information is removed before training, within the privacy rules that apply.
How you can check us
A note on what we do not know. We cannot promise an AI lab will want your data, and we cannot promise a price. Both come after a sample and a written offer. Anyone who promises either before seeing the data is guessing.
- Call the number above and ask for the broker agreement and the fee disclosure in writing before you give us anything.
- Have your own counsel read the broker agreement and the license. Our contracts are reviewed by counsel too, and a second reading is cheap.
- Read the [steps of a deal](/how-it-works/) and compare them with what we do on the first call.
- Look at what we publish for anyone to use on the [open data page](/open-data/), and at the videos and articles under our name.
- Compare us with other options. You are not required to choose one broker, and the agreement is the only thing that limits you.

Questions about is AI Training Data Broker legit? Who we are, how we are paid and how to check
Do I pay anything?
You do not pay our broker fee. The AI lab that buys the data pays it, and only after the deal closes. Cleaning the data of personal detail is a separate matter agreed case by case.
Can I walk away after the three months?
Yes. After the term you are free to go elsewhere unless you agree in writing to more time.
What if I already talked to another broker?
Tell us first, with the labs that saw the data and any offers. Those labs stay off our list, and we wait if another broker still represents the company.
Who sees my data before I sign?
Nobody. We start only after the seller signs, and no data leaves until a deal is agreed and the records are cleaned.
Is this legal advice?
No. We are not your lawyer. Your counsel reads the broker agreement and the license.
