Can your sales team's CRM data be sold or licensed?

Hello, everyone. If your company sells to other businesses, your sales team has spent years typing into a CRM, the system that tracks every lead and deal.

Most owners see it as a chore their reps put up with, and not as something with value outside the company.

In this video, I will show you why AI companies want that history, which parts they want, and what we leave out of the license.

One hint before we start: your lost deals matter just as much as the ones you won.

  2. First, a surprising fact about how AI gets tested on sales. In 2025, researchers built a test for AI agents on everyday sales work, such as routing leads, approving quotes and fixing deals stuck at the wrong stage.

The best AI agents got about 58% of the one-step tasks right, and only about 35% when the task ran over a back-and-forth conversation.

Look closely at the data they used, though, because the paper says it is entirely synthetic, which means the researchers made it up.

Real sales history is private, and it sits in CRMs at companies like yours. Before I show you what is in it, let me tell you who I am.

  3. I'm Jimmy. I have worked in data at Fortune 500 companies, as a data analyst, a data engineer and a software engineer, and I am trained in data science. I am also a Canadian military veteran, where I specialized in data analysis and reporting.

Are you selling your data? We are your broker and technical advisor. We get you the best price, and we guide your team through the technical side, so your data stays private.

Are you buying data for an AI lab? We find the right data for you and see it through to delivery, so you can focus on advancing AI research.

  4. Think about what your CRM already holds after a few years of selling. Every lead is there, along with where it came from.

The calls and notes show what each customer asked for, and the quotes show prices, options and every revised version.

You will also find the discounts your reps asked for and the ones managers approved, plus how each deal moved through the stages.

Most important of all, each deal ends with won or lost, and often a reason, which is the part AI companies value most.

  5. Here is one deal from a company with 30 people that sells office furniture to other businesses.

A customer fills in the web form for 120 desks, and the rep calls back and notes the date they move into the new office.

The quote comes to $48,000, the customer asks for 8% off, and the sales manager approves 5% instead.

In the end, the deal is lost, and the rep writes down why: the delivery date was 6 weeks too late for the move.

  6. That lost deal might look like a failure, but for AI companies it is one of the most useful parts of your data.

A won deal shows what worked, at what price and how fast, while a lost deal with a reason shows what went wrong and when it started.

Researchers can invent customers and quotes, as that test did, but they can not invent why a real customer walked away.

That is why years of deals, both won and lost, with the reasons written down, are worth far more than a list of contacts.

  7. Now for what we leave out of the license, which is the first thing most owners ask about.

We de-identify your data, so customer names, contact names, emails and phone numbers are removed before any AI company sees it.

Each customer company gets a stand-in name, and that stand-in stays the same across the CRM, the email and the quotes, so the deal still makes sense.

Anything you hold under a customer contract is left out too, and you confirm with your own team that the rest is yours to license.

  8. So, how do you know if your CRM is worth a closer look? Start with a sales team that sells to other businesses.

Next, look for 3 or more years of deals, with reps who write real notes rather than just ticking boxes.

It helps a lot when won and lost deals are marked, ideally with a reason, and when the quotes and emails can be matched to each deal.

You do not need all 5, because even a few years of honest notes can be enough to start a conversation.

  9. This is where I come in, as your broker and technical advisor.

As your broker, I bring your sales history to several AI companies and AI labs, get you competing offers, and work through the terms with you, and you make the final call.

As your technical advisor, I guide your team through the CRM export, match it to the email and quotes, and de-identify it before anyone sees it.

You never get an invoice from me, because my fee is part of the deal itself and is paid only when it closes.

  10. In short, your CRM is not just a chore for your reps, because every deal in it, won or lost, shows how real selling works.

If you run a company with 30 or more people, the data you already have could become a new revenue stream. You can find out if yours qualifies, for free, at AITrainingDataBroker.com.
