What does an AI training data broker do for you?

AI companies need a new kind of data, and a lot of it sits inside ordinary companies. So who connects them? That is what an AI training data broker does.

In this video, I will show you what I do on each side of a deal: for the company with the data, and for the AI team that needs it.

And by the end, you will know how I get paid, and whether your company could be a fit. So let us start with why this job exists at all.

  2. Here is why this job exists. AI models learned by reading the public internet. But that is running out.

A 2024 study by Epoch AI found that the good, human-written text online could be used up between 2026 and 2032.

So where does AI learn next? From private data: how real companies do their work. That is where a broker comes in. But first, a quick word about me.

  3. I'm Jimmy. I have worked in data at Fortune 500 companies, as a data analyst, a data engineer and a software engineer, and I am trained in data science. I am also a Canadian military veteran, where I specialized in data analysis and reporting.

Selling your data? We are your broker and your technical advisor. We get you the best price, and we guide your team through the technical side, from export to cleaning, so your data stays private. Buying data for an AI lab? We find quality data that fits your requirements and see it through to delivery, so your team can focus on advancing AI research.

  4. So what does a broker actually do? Picture 2 sides of every deal.

On one side, your company, with years of records of real work. On the other side, an AI company that needs that kind of data to train its models.

And in the middle, us. Here is the important part: we represent the company with the data, not the buyer. So let us start on your side.

  5. So, for your company, I do 2 jobs in one.

First, I am your broker. I bring your company to several AI companies, not just one. That way they compete on price, and you get the best terms. Then I negotiate those terms for you, case by case.

Second, I am your technical advisor. Most companies have never done this before, so I guide your team through the technical side: what to export, in what format, how names and personal details come out, and how the files get to the buyer safely.

And through all of it, you keep your data. It is a license, not a sale. Now, what about the other side of the deal?

  6. If you build AI, here is what I do for you. It comes in 4 steps.

First, I find data that fits what you are training. Then I check the rights: can this company really license it? Next, you get a short summary and a cleaned sample to review. And finally, I see the deal through, all the way to delivery, so your team can focus on the research.

So both sides get something real. But is there real money in this? Let us look.

  7. Here is one public example. In 2024, Reuters reported that Reddit agreed to let Google train AI on its posts, for about $60 million a year.

Now, to be clear, most company deals are much smaller than that. I will never promise you a number.

But it shows the buyers are real, and they pay for good data. So what does it cost you to find out what yours is worth?

  8. Here is the simple answer. It costs you nothing up front.

I am paid only when a deal closes. If there is no deal, there is no bill.

On top of that, each deal is reviewed by an outside lawyer and covered by an outside insurer. And the terms are always worked out case by case. So the last question is: could your company be a fit?

  9. Here is a quick way to tell. Ask yourself 4 things.

Do you have about 40 or more people? Some companies can look at 20 or 30; that is decided case by case. Have you used the same tools for 3 or more years? Do you have records of real work, like support tickets, email, team chat or your CRM? And are those records mostly in English?

If most of those are a yes, your company could be a fit. And your part is mostly exporting the data, which I help with. Not sure? The free check at the end gives you a straight answer.

  10. So that is what an AI training data broker does. For your company, I am your broker and your technical advisor. For AI teams, I find data you can trust and see it through.

If you run a company with 30 or more people, the records you already have could become a new revenue stream. Find out if yours qualifies, free, at AITrainingDataBroker.com.

Thank you for watching. See you in the next one.
