You can license your company's operational data in three formats: documented processes, recorded task runs, and AI-assisted tasks. We help you decide which fits your business, walk you through the details, and keep the transaction simple.

Documented processes

This is the lightest form. You already have written procedures, playbooks, checklists, or runbooks that describe how a task is done. A lab studies the order of steps, the checks, and the exceptions.

It works well for teams that keep formal documentation. A finance group that follows a month-end close checklist, a services firm with a client-onboarding playbook, or an operations crew that maintains a standard operating procedure for each site all qualify.

The limitation is the gap between the page and real practice. A document says what should happen; labs also want to see what actually happens. That is why the next two formats exist.

Recorded task runs

Here your staff perform a real task while the steps, inputs, outputs and review notes are captured automatically. Think of a support ticket that shows every message from the first request to the final fix, a quote generated from a customer request, or a purchase order that moves through approval.

This format shows the true path, including any detours. It suits work that repeats week after week and leaves a written trail in your tools, tickets, jobs, estimates, chat logs, or CRM entries. Because the data comes directly from the tools you already use, the buyer can see the reasoning that led to each outcome.

It requires a bit more agreement up front. We sit with you to decide who participates, what is recorded, and when the capture starts. Your staff signs off before any of their work is logged.

AI-assisted tasks

In this form your staff use an AI assistant while completing a real task, and the prompts, edits and corrections are recorded. Labs value this because it reveals where the assistant helps, where it falls short, and where a human steps in.

It fits teams that already rely on an assistant daily, or those ready to experiment. The underlying task stays the same; the extra record shows how the person and the tool collaborated. This data is especially useful for building reinforcement-learning environments that mimic real business workflows.

How we work with you

First we ask a few basic questions about your data and create a one-page summary that we send to several AI labs, no data leaves your company at this stage. The labs reply with quotes and conditions; we bring the best offer back to you for your approval. Once you accept, we draft a license that protects your ownership, de-identifies the data, and arranges a secure export, as explained on our how-it-works page.

Choosing the right format

Start with what you already have. If you maintain written procedures, documented processes are the quickest entry point. If your work lives in tickets, jobs, or chat and repeats regularly, recorded task runs give the lab the real-world signal they need. If you already use an AI assistant, AI-assisted tasks provide the most current insight.

Pricing depends on how much data you generate, the type of data, years of continuous history, and how rare your industry is. For workflow-based deals the price is set per organizational workflow, and you can see more details on our workflows page.

A quick self-assessment can help you decide which format to offer first. Write down the top three recurring activities in your business, note whether they are documented, captured in a system, or involve an AI tool, and estimate the volume of records per month. If the answer points to at least one of the three formats, you are likely a good fit for a data license.

Questions people ask

What kinds of data are valuable to AI labs?

Labs look for operational records that show a complete decision chain: support tickets with resolutions, chat threads that end in a decision, CRM activity, SOPs, knowledge-base articles, project histories, and accounting exports. An isolated email archive is usually less useful.

How is my company's data protected?

We remove all personally identifiable information and any content your policy marks as confidential. Names become stable pseudonyms, and the de-identification steps are checked by trained reviewers. The license agreement also requires the buyer's counsel to confirm legal compliance.

Do I have to sign a long-term exclusive deal?

Exclusivity is typically limited to 24 months, though shorter terms are possible at a lower price. Use rights for the licensed data are usually perpetual because a trained model cannot give the data back. You always retain ownership of the original records.
