AI companies want your support staff's data

Hello, everyone. After my last video, a viewer, Ashish, left a great question in the comments, and this whole video is my answer to it.

It is a question every business owner should hear, because the answer is sitting in your company's data.

So first, let me show you exactly what Ashish asked.

The video

Full script

  1. Hello, everyone. After my last video, a viewer, Ashish, left a great question in the comments, and this whole video is my answer to it.

It is a question every business owner should hear, because the answer is sitting in your company's data.

So first, let me show you exactly what Ashish asked.

  2. Ashish pointed out that AI gets the most practice on code and math, because a computer can easily check whether the answer is right or wrong.

Then came the real question: how do you judge whether a slide deck, or any office work, was done right, when right depends on the person and the context?

That is a sharp point, and to be fair, the research says Ashish is right about the first part.

  3. A 2026 study from Carnegie Mellon and Stanford looked at how AI agents are tested, and found that the tests favour work with a clear right answer that is easy to check.

Work with fuzzy goals, where a person has to judge the result, gets far less testing, so AI gets far less practice at it.

So how do you grade work like a slide deck? Before I answer that, let me tell you who I am.

  4. I'm Jimmy. I have worked in data at Fortune 500 companies, as a data analyst, a data engineer and a software engineer, and I am trained in data science. I am also a Canadian military veteran, where I specialized in data analysis and reporting.

Are you selling your data? We are your broker and technical advisor. We get you the best price, and we guide your team through the technical side, so your data stays private.

Are you buying data for an AI lab? We find the right data for you and see it through to delivery, so you can focus on advancing AI research.

  5. Start with the slide deck from Ashish's question. There is no single right answer, so work like this is graded in 2 simple ways.

Either people who do the job write a checklist for a good deck, or a person looks at 2 versions and picks the better one.

Now look at what already happens in your office: a first draft goes to the manager, who writes back that it is too long and should lead with the price, and then version 2 gets approved and wins the client.

That chain holds both kinds of grading, written down by the people who mattered, and your company has years of it.

And that answer also explains why AI companies want your support staff's data, which is where we go next.

  6. First, look at a test that Carnegie Mellon researchers built: a pretend company with email, chat, files and coworkers, and 175 office tasks for AI agents to finish.

An AI agent is AI that works through a task on its own, and the best agent finished 38% of the software tasks, but only 13% of the admin tasks and 8% of the finance tasks.

The researchers also gave a reason, because this kind of office work lives in private company data, which AI has not been able to learn from.

That reason is the key to this whole video, so keep it in mind.

  7. Who does that work in your company? Usually it is not the experts whose names are on the door, but the people who work around them.

A lawyer gets the attention, while the legal secretary keeps the court dates and filings on track, and a doctor sees the patient, while the front desk and billing team book the visit and get the claim paid.

The same goes for a staff accountant closing the month, or a project coordinator chasing every approval on a job.

That support work is full of judgment calls, and every one of them gets graded in the end.

  8. Remember the slide deck? Your company grades every kind of office work the same way, every single day, and writes the result down.

The report was approved or sent back for changes, the claim was paid or denied, the quote was signed or lost, and the filing went in on time or late.

That written outcome works like a grade on each piece of work, because it shows what right looked like to the people who mattered, in that context, at that company.

AI companies can not invent that kind of grade in a lab, and that is why your data holds real value for them.

  9. Now, let us see what that looks like in a real business. Say you run a property management company with 40 people, and a tenant emails about a leak under the kitchen sink.

Your coordinator asks for photos, decides it is urgent, picks a plumber from your list, and books the first slot that works for the tenant.

The repair comes in at $640, which is over the usual limit, so the building owner approves it by email, and the plumber fixes the leak.

Finally, the invoice is paid and the tenant confirms the leak is gone, so your data holds every choice in order, plus the outcome at the end.

Before any of it leaves your company, we de-identify your data, which means we strip out the tenant names, the addresses and the unit numbers, and since it is a license, you keep your data and keep using it.

  10. Where does this kind of data sit in your company? Mostly in the tools your support staff use all day long.

Think of the shared inbox, the ticket or work-order queue, the team chat, the calendar, the billing system, and the email threads where someone says yes or no.

What makes it worth more is having years of it, with the outcome attached, from a team of 30 or more people who work at their desks.

On your side, the main job is the export, and we guide your team through it.

  11. And finding that kind of data is exactly what I do, as your broker and technical advisor.

As your broker, I show AI companies and AI labs where the judgment calls and outcomes sit in your data, so you get competing offers, and then I work through the terms with you, and you make the final call.

As your technical advisor, I guide your team through what to export, which format to use, and how your data is de-identified before it is delivered.

Nothing moves until your team signs off, the terms are worked out case by case, and my fee comes from a signed deal, never from your own pocket.

  12. So, to answer Ashish's question: office work is judged by the people around it, and your support staff have been writing down those judgments for years.

If you run a company with 30 or more people, the data you already have could become a new revenue stream. You can find out if yours qualifies, for free, at AITrainingDataBroker.com.

If you have further questions, leave them in the comments, and I will answer them in the next video.

Thank you for watching, and I will see you there.
